Our Philosophy
If
we are to believe the Aboriginals’ philosophy on nature, then it is
a fact that all living things have a soul. It is this energy and
connection to the earth which brings about the perfect harmony of
the forests and river ecologies around the world. Each location
unique from the next in its colours and structure.
One
location unique to Australia is the Murray Riverland on Victoria’s
Northern border. It is here along the hundreds of kilometres of
meandering waterways that we find some of the hardiest, most
ruggedly beautiful timbers in the world. The various River gums,
Oaks and Willows, all densely entwined along the river and
surrounding flood lands.
Within this rugged environment lay natures
offerings amounting to tonnes of fallen logs and deceased trees. It
is with this ever available resource that our hard work
began.
Over the last decade, we have acquired an
amazing range of beautiful timbers. Australia’s history and the
captivating colours of our landscape ever present in some of our
most precious including Redgum, Blackwood and
Messmate/Stringybark.
After removing some of these sleeping
giants from their forest, bush and urban origins, we are now able
to transform them into unique lifetime heirlooms.
Our
skilled craftsmen and design team have blended together their
joinery techniques of a bygone era, with the graceful, timeless
lines of nature and embraced this with a never ending passion to
create. As we wipe away the aged exterior, we reveal its beauty
once again.
And
thus the Soul of the Tree lives on.
